My daughter's 2002 TJ Sport has a sanding/slight grinding noise when the clutch is depressed and the manual transmission is in neutral. When her foot is off of the clutch pedal and the transmission is in neutral there is no noise (other than normal TJ sounds).

Only show this user. I have a 2008 1098 with almost 12,000 miles on it. It has a lot of city miles with tough start and stop conditions. Lately, it's beginning to make a slight grinding noise while slipping the clutch from a stop. There are no issues under hard acceleration or while shifting. It seems to be worse while the bike is still cold.

When I spin the primary clutch BY HAND, it only rotates a total of 2". When it stops in either direction, it seems to hit a snag and sounds solid (maybe metal to metal, but hard to tell b/c I'm not spinning it fast). Any ideas what the problem can be?
